We’re a neighbourhood bar located in the heart of Sydney. At 5 minutes from Central Station, Newtown, and Glebe…. Guys, Zigis wine bar is all about the love for sharing delicious food, amazing wine and meeting new friends. This is a place where you come for a drink and leave after few hours later cos you’ve become part of our family. Our staff make you feel you belong and the regulars that welcome you to be part of our familia… we only have two house rules here…. No dickhead policy and no judgment in our house of love. We don’t do posh, or pretentious. We boast a unique dining and bar experience and an atmosphere unlike any other in Sydney. Our kitchen is open until 10pm and our fusion middle eastern cuisine is a must to try! And the best part… you don’t need to get all dressed up to come here.

Zigi Ozeri, came to Australia in the late 90’s and found himself in as kitchenhand as he run out the money (as lots of tourists do…). He fell in love with the hospitality industry…. And 20yrs later, his repertoire extends through to mentoring the next generation of chefs, by teaching at TAFE colleges and various community colleges throughout Sydney. He has also mentored young chefs through their journey.

Philosophy

We are Epicures, loving Wine, Food and Art… Aren’t you?, “We like cheese. We really like cheese. A lot.” Our philosophy is simple: to share our passion for Australian and international cheeses with as many people as possible. The choices range from the familiar to the obscure; from mild to strong from fresh to washed to blue. And because not every cheese goes with quince paste as many people use to it… we pair it with simplicity of home roasted spicy nuts, house baked and our famous Pumpkin and sea salt Lavosh as a perfect condiment.
